Standards, grades and regional comparability
We supply to European standards — primarily EN 10080 with mechanical grades B500A, B500B and B500C as defined in DIN 488 and used under Eurocode 2 (EN 1992-1-1). Across the Middle East, many specifications were written around or accept British and European norms, and engineers frequently compare ribbed weldable rebar to BS 4449 Grade 500 and to EN/DIN grades. The key mechanical characteristics — 500 MPa minimum yield, defined ratio of tensile to yield strength (k) and minimum total elongation (Agt) — are broadly comparable across these systems, which is why B500B is widely understood and used by international contractors in the region.

Documentation for Middle East shipments
Customs clearance and project QA in the region are documentation-driven. A typical export package includes:
- Mill Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1) — chemical analysis and mechanical properties (yield, tensile, elongation, bend) traceable to the heat number.
- Certificate of Origin — issued for the consignment; in some markets this is requested in legalised or chamber-attested form.
- Commercial invoice and packing list — itemised by diameter, length, grade, bundle and weight.
- Declaration of Performance / CE conformity documentation where applicable.
- Pre-shipment inspection reports where an importer or authority nominates a third-party inspection body.
Some Gulf and Levant destinations may require documents to be legalised or attested (for example via a chamber of commerce or consulate) and may involve a pre-shipment or conformity inspection. Requirements vary by country and project — confirm the exact set for your destination at enquiry stage so documentation is prepared correctly.
Packing, loading and shipment options
Reinforcing steel destined for the Middle East travels long sea distances and arrives into hot, humid and often coastal conditions. We bundle bar into seaworthy bundles (typically around 2 tonnes) banded at intervals, with grade and heat tags, and palletise or crate mesh and accessories. Packing is specified to limit movement and surface deterioration in transit. Light surface oxidation on uncoated rebar is normal and does not affect compliance, but bundling and stowage are arranged to keep material in sound condition over a long voyage.
