Why specify Steel Rebar Germany mesh

Engineered fabric that pours faster and traces back to the heat number.

Welded wire mesh replaces hand-tied loose bar in slabs, walls and screeds, locking the steel grid into a single rigid panel before the concrete arrives. As a dedicated welded wire mesh supplier, Steel Rebar Germany fabricates fabric to spec, bands and tags every bundle, and ships it ready to lap and lay — so your crews place steel in hours, not days.

Mill-certified to BS 4483 & BS 4449. Yield, tensile, weld-shear and dimensional data on every batch, with a mill test certificate per shipment.

Standard & bespoke fabric. A142–A393 and B385–B1131 from stock, plus custom main/cross wire, pitch and overhang to your drawing.

Export-packed for the long haul. Bundled, banded, edge-protected and tagged for container or break-bulk to 40+ ports.

Consistent weld integrity. Resistance-welded intersections tested to BS 4483 shear requirements — no missed or burnt welds.

Where it’s specified

Applications for welded reinforcement fabric

From ground slabs to precast panels, welded mesh delivers consistent crack control and faster placement across the construction and infrastructure sectors we supply.

Ground & suspended slabs

A142–A393 square fabric for slabs-on-grade, raft foundations and suspended floors — uniform crack control and rapid two-way placement.

One-way spanning decks

B-series long mesh puts the heavy steel along the load path for roads, bridge decks and one-way slabs, cutting fabric weight without losing capacity.

Precast & tilt-up panels

Custom-fabricated mesh to panel drawings — controlled overhangs and edge clearances for precast walls, facades and cladding units.

Tunnels & segments

Curved and flat fabric for tunnel linings, shotcrete reinforcement and precast segments, fabricated to tight dimensional tolerance.

Culverts & drainage

Box culverts, retaining walls and water-retaining structures where consistent cover and welded grid integrity are critical to durability.

Screeds & toppings

Light A142 and C-series wrapping mesh for screeds, topping slabs and column wrapping where thin-section crack control is the goal.

The buyer’s guide

Choosing the right welded wire mesh supplier for your project

Welded wire mesh — also called reinforcement fabric, mesh reinforcement or weldmesh — is a prefabricated grid of high-yield steel wires resistance-welded at every intersection. Compared with loose bar tied on site, fabric arrives as a rigid, dimensionally accurate panel that drops straight into the slab, removing thousands of individual tie operations and the human error that comes with them. For contractors and distributors buying at export volume, the difference between a good and a poor welded wire mesh supplier shows up in three places: certification, weld integrity and packing.

Square fabric vs. structural long mesh

The first specification decision is geometry. A-series square mesh (A142, A193, A252, A393) carries equal steel area in both directions, making it the default for two-way slabs, rafts and walls where the load path is not strongly directional. B-series long mesh (B385, B503, B785, B1131) concentrates heavier main wires at a 100mm pitch in one direction with lighter cross wires at 200mm, so the steel follows the span on one-way slabs, roads and decks — delivering the same structural capacity at a lower fabric weight. C-series wrapping fabric handles thin sections, column wrapping and screeds. Specifying the correct family first avoids over-ordering steel and keeps your tonnage efficient.

Why certification is non-negotiable

Every Steel Rebar Germany mesh panel is fabricated from ribbed reinforcing wire to BS 4449 Grade 500 and assembled to BS 4483, with equivalents to ASTM A1064 and ISO 6935-3 available on request. What matters at the point of delivery is the mill test certificate: yield strength, tensile strength, the tensile-to-yield ratio, weld shear strength and dimensional data, all traceable to the heat number stamped on the bundle tag. We issue an MTC with 100% of shipments. On infrastructure and water-retaining works where the engineer or third-party inspector will reject untraceable steel, that paperwork is the difference between a smooth pour and a held-up programme.

Weld integrity and dimensional accuracy

The defining feature of welded fabric is the welded node — and it is also the most common failure point with low-cost suppliers. Burnt, missed or under-strength welds let wires shift during transport and placement, ruining cover and crack control. Steel Rebar Germany fabric is produced on calibrated resistance-welding lines and shear-tested against the BS 4483 minimum weld strength so the grid stays square from the mill to the pour. Consistent pitch and overhang also mean your laps land where the drawing says they should, which keeps inspection straightforward.

Export packing that survives the journey

Reinforcement fabric is awkward to ship: large, flat and prone to edge damage. Steel Rebar Germany bundles sheets with the cut wires aligned, bands them with edge protection, and tags each bundle with fabric reference, dimensions and heat number for fast site identification. We load for container or break-bulk depending on volume and destination, and supply full export documentation — commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and the MTC — so the consignment clears customs and reaches the site as ordered. This is the packing discipline that separates a reliable exporter from a one-off trader.

Custom fabric, cut and bend, and complementary products

Beyond standard references we fabricate bespoke mesh to drawing — nominating main and cross wire diameters, pitch, sheet size, overhang and edge configuration for precast panels, tunnel segments and special structures. Welded mesh also pairs naturally with our cut and bend rebar for slab edges, starter bars and detailing, and with TMT steel rebar for heavy structural elements. Buying mesh, bar and fabricated steel from a single certified source simplifies your supply chain and consolidates documentation under one mill test regime.

Common questions

Welded wire mesh FAQ

What is the difference between A-series and B-series welded wire mesh?

A-series fabric (A142, A193, A252, A393) is a square mesh with equal cross-sectional steel area in both directions, used for general two-way slabs and walls. B-series (B385, B503, B785, B1131) is a structural long mesh with heavier main wires running one way and lighter cross wires, designed for one-way spanning slabs, roads and decks where the load path is directional.

What standards do Steel Rebar Germany welded wire mesh products meet?

Our welded fabric is manufactured to BS 4483 from ribbed reinforcing wire complying with BS 4449 Grade 500. We also supply to ASTM A1064 and ISO 6935-3 on request. Every shipment ships with a mill test certificate (MTC) confirming yield, tensile, weld shear and dimensions.

What sizes do welded wire mesh sheets come in?

The standard structural sheet is 4.8m × 2.4m. We also supply 6.0m × 2.4m, custom-cut sheets, and rolled mesh for slabs-on-grade. Wire diameters range from 5mm to 12mm with 100mm or 200mm pitch depending on the fabric reference.

Can Steel Rebar Germany supply custom welded mesh to drawing?

Yes. We fabricate bespoke welded mesh to your schedule — specifying main and cross wire diameters, pitch, overhang, sheet dimensions and edge configuration — for precast panels, tunnel segments, culverts and special structures. Send your drawing or fabric spec to our export desk for a same-day quote.

Do you export welded wire mesh internationally?

Yes. Steel Rebar Germany exports welded wire mesh and reinforcement fabric in containers and break-bulk to over 40 ports across the GCC, Africa, Europe and Asia, bundled, banded and tagged for site identification, with full export documentation and certificates of origin.
