A steel coil and wire rod supplier built for export volume

Choosing a steel coil and wire rod supplier is a procurement decision with long downstream consequences. Inconsistent chemistry stalls a drawing bench; out-of-round rod jams a high-speed welder; sloppy packing turns a container of coils into rust-streaked rework at the discharge port. Steel Rebar Germany exists to take those risks off your desk. We supply hot-rolled wire rod and rebar-in-coil to a single, repeatable standard, certify every heat, and pack each coil for the journey it actually has to make — not the showroom floor.

Wire rod vs. rebar-in-coil: choosing the right feedstock

Plain or low-rib wire rod in SAE 1006–1018 is the workhorse for cold processing: it is drawn, cold-headed, welded and formed into wire, fasteners and mesh. Rebar-in-coil is ribbed reinforcement steel wound in coil form, in grades B500B and Gr60, designed to be uncoiled and fed straight into automated cut-and-bend and stirrup lines. The advantage of coil over straight-length bars on a fabrication line is continuous feed and dramatically reduced end-cut scrap. We carry both, in overlapping diameters, so you can standardise your inbound logistics around one supplier and one certificate format.

Grades, chemistry and what the numbers mean for your line

Carbon content is the lever. Lower-carbon grades like SAE 1006 and 1008 draw deeper and weld cleaner, making them ideal for fine wire and welded mesh. As carbon rises through SAE 1010, 1012 and 1018, tensile strength climbs and the rod becomes better suited to cold heading and higher-strength fasteners — at the cost of drawability. For reinforcement, B500B to BS 4449 and ISO 6935-2 delivers the characteristic 500 MPa yield with the ductility class B elongation that codes demand for seismic and structural detailing. Our metallurgists will map your application onto the right grade rather than letting you over-spec and overpay.

  • Drawability first? SAE 1006–1008, low residuals, tight ovality for clean die life.
  • Cold heading? SAE 1010–1018 CHQ rod with controlled inclusions and decarb limits.
  • Reinforcement? B500B / Gr60 rebar-in-coil, ribbed, weldable, fully MTC-traceable.

Certification, traceability and the mill test certificate

Every coil and every bundle leaves us with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate. That document ties the steel in your hands back to its heat number, listing actual chemical composition and mechanical results — yield, tensile, elongation and, where applicable, bend test. For inspectors, distributors and main contractors, that traceability is non-negotiable: it is what lets you sign off reinforcement on a structural job or pass a customer’s incoming-goods audit without a callback. Steel Rebar Germany steel is certified to BS 4449, ASTM A615, ASTM A510, ISO 16120, ISO 6935-2, ISO 9001 and CARES, and we are happy to pre-share specimen MTCs before you commit a single container.

Export packing, coil handling and global delivery

Coils fail in transit when they are packed for a warehouse, not a hold. We strap each coil securely, label it with heat and grade, and configure presentation — eye-to-sky or eye-to-side — to suit your crane and grab. Loads ship in 20ft containers for mixed and smaller orders or break-bulk for full-vessel volumes, with seaworthy wrapping and desiccant where humidity demands it. Our dedicated export desk handles documentation, certificates of origin, and coordinates with freight forwarders across the GCC, Africa, Europe and Asia so the coils that leave the mill are the coils that reach your line — on grade, on time, and in condition.

FAQ

Steel coil & wire rod — common questions

What diameters of wire rod and steel coil do you supply?
We supply hot-rolled wire rod from Ø5.5mm to Ø16mm and rebar-in-coil from Ø6mm to Ø16mm. Standard coil weights run 1.5–2.5 tonnes, with custom coil weights and inner diameters available for automated drawing, mesh and stirrup lines on request.
Which grades and standards are your steel coils certified to?
Our wire rod is rolled to SAE 1006, 1008, 1010, 1012 and 1018 and equivalent low- and mid-carbon grades; reinforcement coil to B500B and Gr60. Every coil ships mill-certified to BS 4449, ISO 16120, ASTM A510 and ISO 6935-2, with a full EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate.
Do you provide a mill test certificate with every coil shipment?
Yes. Every Steel Rebar Germany steel coil and wire rod shipment ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate detailing heat number, chemical composition and mechanical properties (yield, tensile, elongation), fully traceable to the original heat.
Can you export steel coils and wire rod by container and break-bulk?
Yes. We ship in both 20ft containers and break-bulk vessels to over 40 ports across the GCC, Africa, Europe and Asia. Coils are strapped, presented eye-to-sky or eye-to-side to suit your handling, and seaworthy-packed for long-haul transit.
What is the difference between wire rod and rebar-in-coil?
Wire rod is plain or low-rib stock in carbon grades for cold drawing, heading and mesh; rebar-in-coil is ribbed reinforcement steel wound in coils, in grades B500B and Gr60, made to feed straight into automated cut-and-bend and stirrup-bending lines with minimal scrap.
