Rebar Peru: German-Quality Reinforcing Steel for a Growing Market

Peru is one of South America’s largest construction markets, driven by mining infrastructure, Lima urban development, public road and bridge programmes, and commercial real estate. The country’s primary reinforcing steel standard is NTP 341.031 (Norma Técnica Peruana), which closely follows ASTM A615 Grade 60 requirements for deformed carbon-steel bars. Both specify minimum yield strength, deformed surface geometry, and ductility requirements that are broadly comparable to the European B500B grade.

German-origin B500B to EN 10080 / DIN 488 is not formally certified under NTP 341 or ASTM A615, and we do not claim those designations. However, the mechanical performance of B500B — 500 MPa minimum yield, k-ratio ≥ 1.08, Agt ≥ 5.0%, deformed ribbed profile — places it in the same engineering tier as ASTM A615 Grade 60 / NTP 341 Gr60. For international projects in Peru specifying EN 10080 or Eurocode 2, German rebar is directly applicable. For contracts governed by NTP 341 or ASTM A615, the project engineer must confirm equivalence — our full EN 10204 3.1 documentation package supports that process.

Products Available for Export to Peru

Port of Callao & Logistics to Peru

Peru’s primary port gateway is Callao, one of South America’s busiest container terminals, located immediately west of Lima.

Port of Callao

The Port of Callao (APM Terminals Callao, DP World Callao) handles the vast majority of Peru’s container trade. European-origin cargo routes via Atlantic transshipment hubs (e.g. Cartagena or Panama) or direct Pacific services before arriving at Callao. Rebar bundles (~2 t each) load efficiently into 20 ft or 40 ft containers.

Frequently Asked Questions — Rebar Export to Peru

Can German B500B rebar be used on Peruvian construction projects?
For projects specifying EN 10080 or Eurocode 2 — yes, directly. For projects governed by NTP 341 or ASTM A615 Grade 60, the project engineer and the applicable Peruvian regulatory authority must confirm equivalence. German B500B and NTP 341/ASTM A615 Gr60 are mechanically comparable at the performance level — both specify minimum 500 MPa yield performance and deformed bars — but formal cross-certification is not claimed. Our EN 10204 3.1 documentation package supports the technical review.
What is the transit time from Germany to Callao, Peru?
Container transit from North European ports to the Port of Callao typically takes approximately 20 to 30 days depending on routing (whether via Atlantic transshipment, Panama Canal, or direct Pacific service) and shipping line schedules. We do not guarantee specific transit times — these are confirmed at the time of booking.
What documentation is provided with each shipment to Peru?
Every shipment includes: EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate (with heat-number traceability to the producing mill), Certificate of Origin for Germany/EU, commercial invoice, detailed packing list (bundle reference numbers and weights), and bill of lading. HS code classification (7214 for deformed bars, 7213 for coils) is provided for SUNAT customs clearance.
What diameters and lengths are available for export to Peru?
B500B deformed bars are available in 8–40 mm diameter range. Stock lengths are 6 m and 12 m; lengths up to 18 m are available on order. Coils cover 6–16 mm. All diameters can be mixed in a single container to match project requirements across foundation, column, and slab applications.
Do you work with Peruvian steel traders and importers?
Yes. We supply directly to steel traders, building material importers, and project procurement teams in Peru. Submit your enquiry via the quote form with product specification, estimated tonnage, target port (usually Callao), and required delivery window — we will respond with a detailed quotation and logistics proposal.
