Container vs Break-Bulk: Shipping Rebar in Bulk
How you ship bulk rebar affects cost per tonne, port options and lead time. The choice comes down to order size and destination port capability.
The two modes
Containerised loads rebar into 20ft/40ft containers (~25 t in a 20ft). Break-bulk loads loose bundles into a vessel hold, suited to very large tonnages.

How much rebar fits in a container?
A 20ft container typically carries around 25 tonnes of rebar (weight-limited). A 40ft is volume-limited with similar payload depending on port axle rules.

Is break-bulk riskier for rebar?
