B500A vs B500B: Which Grade for 6 mm Coil?

For automated stirrup production, B500A is typically preferred: its lower Agt requirement (≥ 2.5% vs ≥ 5.0% for B500B) is well-suited to machine-bent stirrups where very high elongation is not required, and it is often available cold-rolled which improves surface finish and dimensional tolerance for wire-feeding machines. B500B coil in 6 mm is specified where the project engineer requires high ductility throughout, including the stirrups, or where the national standard mandates B500B for all reinforcing steel elements. Please state your grade requirement when requesting a quotation.

Both grades have 500 MPa minimum yield strength. What is the rebar coil vs. straight bar rebar comparison for stirrup production?
Coil-fed stirrup production offers significant efficiency advantages over cutting straight bars: continuous feed eliminates bar-end waste, machine cycle times are faster, and storage footprint is smaller. For high-volume precast or site-based stirrup production, 6 mm coil is generally more economical than 6 mm straight bar. However, straight bar (available in 6 m lengths) may be preferred for very small quantities or where a coil-fed machine is not available on site.
