Is EN 10080 B500B rebar equivalent to AS/NZS 4671 Grade 500N?
The mechanical parameters are technically comparable: both specify 500 MPa minimum yield, Agt ≥ 5.0%, and k ≥ 1.08. However, AS/NZS 4671 has its own testing regime, rib geometry specifications, and Standards Mark licencing process. Our product is certified to EN 10080 only. The EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate we supply allows Australian structural engineers to assess conformity, but local certification requirements should be confirmed with the project certifier and building consent authority.
Can you supply 500E seismic-grade rebar for Australian projects?
500E (Agt ≥ 10.0%, k ≥ 1.15) is the seismic ductility grade specified on Australia’s east coast and for structures following AS 1170.4. Our B500C grade (Agt ≥ 7.5%, 1.15 ≤ k < 1.35) is the closest EN 10080 equivalent and is available on request. Note that B500C Agt ≥ 7.5% is lower than 500E’s ≥ 10.0% requirement — your structural engineer must confirm whether B500C is acceptable for the specific project ductility demand.
