The 8 mm reinforcing steel coil is one of the most widely used diameters in the coil format — valued by prefabrication plants and stirrup-bending operators alike for its combination of flexibility and structural contribution. At 0.395 kg per linear metre and a cross-sectional area of 50.3 mm², it delivers reliable reinforcement in wall ties, column stirrups, slab distribution reinforcement, and automated mesh production.

Coil supplies continuous wire without bar-end offcuts, making it the preferred feedstock for CNC stirrup bending machines and automatic mesh welding lines. Grade Selection: B500A vs B500B in 8 mm Coil

B500A (cold-rolled coil): Normal ductility (Agt ≥ 2.5%). The dominant grade for automated mesh and light stirrup manufacturing. Cold-rolling refines grain structure and holds tight dimensional tolerances. Suitable for EN 1992-1-1 / Eurocode 2 applications not requiring enhanced ductility class.

B500B (hot-rolled coil): High ductility (Agt ≥ 5.0%, k ≥ 1.08). Required for seismically sensitive regions or where Eurocode 2 specifies ductility class B or above. Hot-rolled surface texture provides superior bond to concrete. Increasingly specified in Middle Eastern, African, and Southern European export markets.
