Strip foundations for loadbearing masonry carry a longitudinal cage of Ø10–Ø16 mm B500B bars with Ø8 mm links at 200–300 mm centres. Pad foundations under columns in concrete-frame housing typically use Ø16–Ø20 mm bars in a bidirectional mat.
