Is B500B directly comparable to Brazilian CA-50?
Yes — both specify 500 MPa minimum yield strength, and the strain hardening ratio and ductility requirements are closely aligned. B500B (EN 10080) A(gt) ≥ 5.0% is measured at maximum load (a different basis than NBR 7480’s A5 ≥ 8%), so the elongation values are not directly numerically comparable but reflect similar ductility targets. B500B is not a substitute for CA-60, which is a higher-yield cold-drawn grade used for smaller-diameter wire and mesh.
What import duties apply to German rebar entering Brazil?
Steel reinforcing bars enter Brazil under NCM 7214.20.00. Brazilian imports are subject to Imposto de Importação (II), IPI, PIS/COFINS, and ICMS (state tax).
