Steel Rebar Export to Pakistan
B500B reinforcing steel to EN 10080 — technically comparable to PS 1879 / BS 4449 Grade 500 used across Pakistan’s construction sector. Container shipping to Karachi and Port Qasim with full EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate.
Rebar Pakistan: Construction Sector and Import Demand
Pakistan is one of South Asia’s largest construction markets, with significant ongoing demand for reinforcing steel driven by residential housing, infrastructure programmes, CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) projects, industrial development, and commercial real estate. Total steel consumption in Pakistan runs into several million tonnes annually, with rebar forming the largest product category.
While Pakistan has a domestic steel industry, import demand for certified, high-quality rebar — particularly for internationally funded projects requiring full documentation — remains substantial. The two main cargo ports, Karachi (KPT) and Port Qasim, both have established facilities for handling steel in containers and break-bulk.
Standard Comparability: EN 10080 B500B vs PS 1879 / BS 4449 Grade 500
Pakistan references both PS 1879 (the Pakistan Standard for high-strength deformed bars) and BS 4449, the British Standard. Both define a Grade 500 deformed bar with the following core mechanical parameters:
| Parameter | PS 1879 / BS 4449 Grade B500B | EN 10080 B500B (our supply) |
|---|---|---|
| Min. Yield Strength | 500 MPa | 500 MPa |
| Ductility Class | Class B | Class B |
| Agt (strain at max force) | ≥ 5.0 % | ≥ 5.0 % |
| k (Rm/Re ratio) | ≥ 1.08 | ≥ 1.08 |
| Bar surface | Ribbed (deformed) | Ribbed (deformed) |
The mechanical performance of EN 10080 B500B is technically comparable to BS 4449 / PS 1879 Grade B500B. We do not claim formal PS 1879 or Pakistani statutory approval; buyers and their structural engineers should confirm acceptability with the relevant authority prior to procurement.

Shipping to Karachi and Port Qasim
Both Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim handle steel imports efficiently, with established customs procedures for bulk and containerised cargo. Regular container services operate from Hamburg and other North European ports to Karachi/Port Qasim via the Suez Canal, with transit times typically in the range of 20–28 days depending on service and vessel calls.
We ship in 20 ft and 40 ft containers, with rebar in seaworthy bundles of approximately 2 tonnes, strapped, tagged, and heat-marked. For large project tonnages, break-bulk options can be discussed. The HS code for ribbed reinforcing bar is typically 7214.20; local customs classification should be confirmed with your Pakistan customs agent.
